Only one week to go till CONVICTION OF THE HEART officially launches– I’m already two weeks into the blog tour, and I’ve met some lovely people who’ve left comments. The contest is gearing up, stories are being featured around the country in newspapers, and we’re about to hit the road for a research trip for one of my urban fantasy books (written as Lyndi Alexander).
I’m so excited about the first review I got on Amazon–here it is, titled “Alana Lorens–the new Nora Roberts?” :
Alana Lorens’ newest release, “Conviction of the Heart,” rises above many romance genre novels in that it could easily fit into the general fiction category. Very few romance writers are successful at such a feat, such as Nora Roberts, and now Alana Lorens. This novel has strong, memorable characters, a carefully crafted plot, and even danger and suspense.
The main protagonist, Suzanne Taylor, is an attorney in a solo practice of family law. She is also a very independent single mom, determined to nurture and protect her two teenaged daughters. Family law. Nice, safe-sounding law practice, right? Not so, as disgruntled, emotional and sometimes psychotic ex-spouses with grudges make threats against the woman who “wrecked my marriage and stole my children.”
Enter Nick Sansone, a self-appointed and protective police detective recently promoted to lieutenant. Suzanne rebuffs his attentions, though she actually needs his help, as danger follows her home. The victims of domestic violence reach beyond the families that spawned it, and even to the children of the very people who would seek to end it. “Conviction of the Heart” tells a tale of such violence with emotion and sensitivity, revealing from the inside what most of us can only imagine.
Written by freelance editor and teacher Dr. Jane Nixon White…I was certainly impressed. Can’t wait for you all to read it too!
